June sees the Junior School's celebration of NAIDOC Week. The students are engaged in a variety of activities throughout the week. Many girls have worked with buddies to make friendship bracelets in the colours of the Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander flags. At assembly, they met girls benefiting from scholarships to some of Sydney's best schools, via our chosen charity, Yalari. They also enjoyed hearing from members of our own PLC community who spoke about the meaning of NAIDOC in their own families.
On Friday they will get to enjoy a visit from Ryka Ali. Ryka will be sharing his Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander heritage through dance, music and storytelling. The end of the week will be finished with a bang, as Jollybops visit with their NAIDOC themed Science show.
